AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 26, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: SLAB), a leader in secure, intelligent wireless technology for a more connected world has added prominent keynote speakers to Works With 2021, the defining Internet of Things (IoT) conference livestreaming for free to thousands of engineers, developers and technologists worldwide, this September 14-15. Titled "The Future of Smart Cities Powered by IoT," the session will focus on smart city innovations and how IoT technology enables cities and municipalities to address new demands on critical infrastructure.
This session airs September 15 from 9:00 AM – 9:55 AM CT and will be moderated by Ross Sabolcik, vice president, industrial and commercial IoT, Silicon Labs and features city officials, equipment providers and data analysts to discuss how the IoT can help cities adapt to these challenges and deliver improved services to residents. Panelists include:
- John Romero, vice president of industry solutions, Landis + Gyr, a global advanced metering solutions provider helping the world manage energy better
- Raiford Smith, electric and gas utilities and technology senior executive at Google-X, the moonshot factory, who develop radical new technologies to help solve the world's hardest problems
- Mayor Steve Adler and City Manager Spencer Cronk, City of Austin
Speakers will discuss the growing challenges for smart city infrastructure, specifically sustainable energy production, infrastructure resilience for extreme weather events and handling new loads on electric utilities. Electric vehicle charging, detecting and fixing water distribution leaks and connected street lighting and environmental sensing will also be part of the discussion.
