AUSTIN, Texas – June 12, 2019 – Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: SLAB) announces that its 8- and 32-bit MCUs are adopted again in the latest smart lock products from Yunding, an innovative smart device and cloud-based service provider and a key member of the Xiaomi Mi Ecosystem. The two IoT companies have collaborated to develop smart locks for apartment management and end consumers in China. Silicon Labs, Yunding and a group of leading companies plan to extend their partnership through a new lab established to develop new and innovative smart lock products in the future.
Founded in 2014, Yunding Network Technology (Beijing) Co. Ltd. has become a leading developer of smart locks and provider of related cloud services. The company’s two primary product platforms included the Yunding series for the apartment market and Loock series for the consumer market. Yunding’s smart lock shipments to both markets have exceeded 2.5 million units to date.
Yunding’s new Loock P1 and Classic 2 smart lock series, launched on May 21, integrate low-power 8-bit and 32-bit MCUs from Silicon Labs. The company’s EFM8™ MCUs and EFM32™ MCUs feature low power consumption and high functional integration. Silicon Labs’ Simplicity Studio, an integrated development environment (IDE) based on Eclipse 4.5, helps developers simplify the IoT development process with one-click access to everything developers need to complete their projects. Yunding is also developing future smart home products based on Silicon Labs’ EFR32 Wireless Gecko system-on-chip (SoC) devices and sensor products.

Silicon Labs has joined Yunding’s AI•S4 Smart Lock Lab initiative announced at a recent launching ceremony. The joint lab focuses on the safety standards for the smart lock industry and guidelines for technology innovation for smart lock technologies. The lab will also provide safety solutions, testing methods and additional capabilities for the industry. Other members of the lab include industry leaders such as Xiaomi Security and Aliyun.
During the launching ceremony for Yunding’s new smart locks, Silicon Labs representatives applauded the cooperation between the two companies, highlighting their leading-edge IoT products for the connected home market and providing an outlook for the IoT market in China. Silicon Labs’ comprehensive IoT solutions have been adopted in multiple Yunding products including Classic 2 / 2S / 2S Pro of the Classic 2 Series launched on May 21.
