Silicon Labs' Simplicity Studio Software Suite Wins Prestigious Elektra Award

-- Company’s Integrated MCU/Wireless Development Platform Honored in the Design Tools and Development Software Award Category --

AUSTIN, Texas – Nov. 25, 2015 – Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: SLAB) has announced that its Simplicity Studio™ development platform has won a coveted Elektra Award in the Design Tools and Development Software category sponsored by SWINDON Silicon Systems. Held annually by Electronics Weekly magazine, the Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards represent the high point of the year for the European electronics industry. Established as a promotional venue to celebrate the achievements of individuals and companies across Europe, the Elektra Awards present best practices in key areas of the electronics industry including innovation, sales growth and employee motivation.

The 2015 Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards were presented during an evening gala held at the Lancaster London hotel in London on Tuesday, November 25.

An independent panel of judges selected Silicon Labs’ Simplicity Studio software suite for an Elektra Award because it enables concurrent 8/32-bit microcontroller and wireless design using one integrated set of tools. This exceptional software integration means developers can save time and resources during the embedded design process because they do not need to switch between development tools when creating connected devices for the Internet of Things (IoT).

“We are delighted that Simplicity Studio won top honors in the Elektra Awards’ design tool and development tools category,” said Raman Sharma, director of marketing for Simplicity Products at Silicon Labs. “Simplicity Studio is Silicon Labs’ flagship development environment for IoT system design based on our 8-bit and 32-bit MCUs, wireless connectivity ICs and sensors. Winning this prestigious award underscores our commitment to providing our customers with a comprehensive, easy-to-use software suite that simplifies the development process.”
