Silicon Laboratories Wins the GSA’s Analyst Favorite Semiconductor Company Award
Mixed-Signal Innovator Chosen by Needham & Company for Steady Growth and Overall Performance in 2012
I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all the employees of Silicon Labs

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Silicon Laboratories Inc. (Nasdaq: SLAB), a leader in high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs), today announced that it won the prestigious Analyst Favorite Semiconductor Company Award presented by Needham & Company at the Global Semiconductor Alliance Award Dinner Celebration held on December 13 in San Jose, California.

“This award represents more than a company’s absolute return on share price or financial performance but steady improvements throughout 2012,” said Vernon Essi, senior analyst for analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, Needham & Company. “All of the nominees deserve accolades for their 2012 performance and overall strategies. However, I felt that Silicon Labs performed remarkably well as it successfully exited a less strategic business and delivered on growth in its most differentiated products. I am pleased to name Silicon Labs as the recipient of this well-deserved award.”

The GSA award dinner, one of the semiconductor industry’s premier events, recognizes companies that have demonstrated excellence through their vision, strategies and execution. The annual celebration honors the achievements of companies in several categories ranging from outstanding leadership to financial accomplishments, as well as overall respect within the industry.

“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all the employees of Silicon Labs,” said Tyson Tuttle, president and CEO of Silicon Labs. “We are very focused on becoming a leader in our industry, and we are building the great products and strong business model to achieve that goal. We appreciate this recognition, particularly among such a strong group of nominees.”

“We are thrilled for the Silicon Labs team to receive the 2012 Analyst Favorite Semiconductor Company Award by Needham & Company,” said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and president of GSA. “This award is a true recognition of Silicon Labs’ continued success and history of innovation in the analog/mixed-signal market, and we congratulate them on this honor.”
